2. Type O Negative, “Summer Breeze”
In 1972, Seals and Crofts’ “Summer Breeze” might have been the soft rock anthem of the summer. In 1993, though, Type O Negative released a gothic reinterpretation to the song. The cover was even used in the opening credits of I Know What You Did Last Summer, proving to be a perfect soundtrack to a dark summer.
