4) “Love You to Death” from October Rust

October Rust might be the band’s most overtly commercial album, with it’s cover of Neil Young’s “Cinnamon Girl” and this, the album’s lead single (also the first actual song on the album). It was  more melodic and lush than the band’s previous albums, yet death remains a main topic of the band (not to mention a particularly clever paraphrasing of lyrics from Pink Floyd in this one). Steele himself was also particularly popular at this point, having appeared as a guest on daytime shows like Jerry Springer and even appearing in Playgirl.
