Former Black Label Society member pleads guilty to sexting a minor

Nick “Evil Twin” Catanese who was in Black Label Society for 14 years, has plead guilty to sending sexually explicit messages to a 14 year-old student of his at School of Rock Castle Shannon. The 46 year-old Catanese was found guilty of unlawful contact, corruption of minors and endangering the welfare of children before Allegheny County Common Please Judge Donna Jo McDaniel. He’ll serve five years of probation, register for 25 years as a Megan’s Law offender, avoid contact with minors and have no access to internet-capable computers.

After leaving BLS in December of 2013, Catanese had been teaching at School of Rock. He’d already been fired from the school based on an incident with another female student when the 14 year-old told owner David Blackrick about the messages she’d been sent. He went directly to police. The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports:

In the incident to which Catanese pleaded guilty, the victim told police that Catanese was her instructor at the school and that he sent her sexually explicit messages on Instagram, including photos of his penis. He also requested nude images of the girl and described various sex acts.

In an interview with investigators, the complaint said, Catanese admitted to being the owner of the username dreviltwin13 on Instagram and exchanging messages with the student.

Here’s hoping that there weren’t more victims.
