Despite announcing that it was finally coming to the States last week, Spotify’s U.S. debut seemed in jeopardy once again when a deal with Warner Music Group had yet been announced. However, not only has the European music service announced today that they secured a deal with WMG, but they also went live.

That’s right, Spotify is now available for use in America. Excited to finally be able to get “any track, anytime, anywhere” for free? Well, not so fast. Despite promising just that last week, free versions will only be handed out on an invite-only basis. While you’ll have to wait for that invite you signed up for to appear in your inbox, Spotify is allowing users to pay for an account for immediate access. Just like the payment tiers with the European version, the “Unlimited”/ad free account will cost $4.99 a month, while the “Premium” account (which gives you mobile access) will cost $9.99 a month.

When we clicked through the account registration process, though, we found that there was a third tier called “I have a code,” where you can enter in a code for a premium account. Keep an eye out for these codes from companies like Coca-Cola and Sprite, Chevrolet, Motorola, and Sonos (all of whom just signed U.S. based branding deals with Spotify).

Apparently, an announcement regarding Spotify’s integration with Facebook will be made tomorrow as well. We’ll keep you posted when more develops, and when we finally get a chance to use Spotify ourselves. Not sure how Spotify works, though? Well, you can check out a trailer the service posted online up top.
