Earlier this past month, Metallica announced that they will be performing their pivotal 1991 self-titled record, aka The Black Album, in its entirety at the Download Festival in Donington, England. Well now it would appear that this won’t be a onetime thing, as Metallica have announced more European dates where Metallica will be performing The Black Album this coming Summer.

More dates are expected to be announced soon, but here are the dates (including the previously announced Download Fest date) revealed so far:

6/1 – Nürnberg, Germany – Rock Im Park

6/2 – Nürburgring, Germany – Rock Am Ring

6/9 – Donington, England – Download

6/10 – Nickelsdorf, Austria – Nova Rock

At the moment, it would appear that Metallica only plan to perform The Black Album from front to back in Europe this Summer to celebrate the 21st anniversary of the record. This would resemble Metallica’s Escape The Studio tour in 2006, where they performed Master Of Puppets in its entirety at certain festivals to celebrate its 20th anniversary. American fans shouldn’t be too bummed, though, since Metallica probably have something special planned for their 30th anniversary shows in San Francisco next week.
