It’s been two years since Slipknot launched its own festival, Knotfest. At first, it seemed as though only Japan was getting the festival this year. However, now it appears Knotfest will also return to America in October, and with a pretty massive lineup.

Along with Slipknot, Danzig, Five Finger Death Punch, Volbeat, Anthrax, Killswitch Engage, Testament, Black Label Society, Carcass, a reunited Atreyu and many others will be playing Knotfest this year. While the first year took place during the summer in the Midwest, this year’s will be held October 24-26 at the San Manuel Amphitheatre & Campgrounds in San Bernardino, CA. It’s worth noting, though, that it’s unclear if each band will be performing during all three days or not.

Knotfest’s return and lineup was essentially revealed via a banner displayed at the opening date of Mayhem Fest today. Shortly after, the festival’s website was updated with the said banner. So while an official announcement/press release hasn’t been made, the lineup and dates are basically confirmed. And needless to say, it’s a pretty damn impressive lineup. It’s also safe to say that this is just one of the many big things Slipknot fans can look forward to seeing this year.
