Sinmara

Sinmara, formerly known as Chao, are absolutely terrifying. While also rooted in black metal, the band isn’t afraid to throw in the occasional death metally riff and some truly sinister, but calculated dissonance that demonstrates instrumental prowess beyond the genre’s primitive roots. More importantly, they’re a black metal band that sounds huge; the production is appropriately raw, but has a sense of depth far superior to the usual muffled, barn-sounding recording quality of similar bands.
