Metal & hardcore punk festival Austin Terror Fest has announced it’s 2019 line-up. Lightning Bolt, Pig Destroyer, Integrity, Goatwhore, Alcest, Panopticon (who will be playing two sets -the first show Blaze Foley cover set as their first-ever performance in Texas, second show – full set of Panopticon music) and Tr/st, among others, lead the list of more than 30 bands set to perform at the three-day festival.
Now in its third year, Austin Terror Fest has expanded to more than just metal bands. “This year,” festival founder Dusty Brooks told the Austin Chronicle,
“we said, ‘Let’s swing for the fences and not be pegged as a metal festival, but just a festival’ – [albeit] one not for the faint of heart.”
Unlike the last two years, this year’s event will be hosting metal, punk, industrial, noise, experimental, and even hip-hop as Brooks added:
“In an effort to make the festival a more comprehensive and encompassing celebration of counterculture and experimental music. I really think this is going to be the biggest Austin Terror Fest yet, as we have been able to secure some of the best talent possible when it comes to metal and rock.”
The festival has also upgraded in the venue this year. Starting as a South By Southwest showcase in 2017, Austin Terror took on two venues, Barracuda and Lone Star for its second time around. This year, the festival is moving to Empire Control Room & Garage, as well as Barracuda, for a more centralized feel and allow more space for attendees.
Austin Terror Fest takes place June 7-9, 2019. Three-day passes are on sale now through the festival’sFacebook page for $150. Individual day tickets will be available once daily schedules have been announced.
