boxscore festivals

If you keep wondering how much your favorite bands make when they head out on the road, Billboard‘s Boxscore released their latest batch of earnings and attendance from many artists, and we’ve summarized them here for you.

Here’s a very interesting week when we get to see the numbers for some of the various spring and summer festivals across the country, including Rocklahoma, Carolina Rebellion and others. We summarized a list of all the upcoming festivals in North America which has some of the festivals organized by Danny Wimmer who told us a little bit about how this whole festival promotion business works. Take a look at those numbers! Almost every festival and show sold out or was close to it and that really shows how metal isn’t dying or going anywhere anytime soon. We have seen how some of our readers have pointed out how all these festivals share a lot of the same bands on the bill and how it would affect each other, but the truth of the matter is that it doesn’t. What we’re seeing is basically one massive “touring” festival going to different states at different times of the year, bringing some of the biggest rock and metal acts out there and it seems to be working just fine. If the trend continues, we’ll see these festivals coming back next year with some quality bands to guarantee you attend it, no matter where you are. Good job to the rest of the bands too!
