Foo Fighters, APC, Deftones Confirmed For Lollapalooza

Posted by on April 26, 2011

While it may not boast too much heavy metal acts, this year’s Lollapalooza is certainly building up to be heavier than one particular festival (granted, that’s not too hard to do). Along with Eminem, Muse and Coldplay, our favorite non-metal band Foo Fighters will be co-headlining this year’s festival, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary. Other heavy acts appearing on the bill are A Perfect Circle (who have been rumored to be on the bill for some time now) and the Deftones.

While APC and Deftones may stand out more as heavy acts, there are a few other bands on the bill that have their metal connections as well. We revealed My Morning Jacket’s love of black metal yesterday (well…ok that’s misleading), and noise pop Sleigh Bells’ Derek E. Miller use to be in Poison The Well. Also, Revolver think of The Pretty Reckless as metal…or just finds Taylor Momsen really hot. Plus, DJ Skrillex’s recent collaborators Korn joined him during his set at Coachella earlier this month, so who knows! Maybe Korn will make a surprise visit during his set at Lollapalooza?

You can check out the entire lineup over at Lollapalooza’s website. The festival will take place at Grant Park in Chicago from August 5-7.
