Due to the unfortunate passing of Soundgarden and Audioslave frontman Chris Cornell, this weekend’s Pointfest concert is cancelled. The show was scheduled to be held on Saturday (20) at the Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre in St. Louis, MO featuring Soundgarden as the headliner. Other bands on the bill included  Stone Sour, Pierce the Veil, Dillinger Escape Plan and more.

The festival organizers revealed the news on their Facebook stating:

It is with deep regret, due to the sudden passing of Chris Cornell of Soundgarden overnight, Pointfest on Saturday is cancelled.

Tickets purchased online at LiveNation.com or through Ticketmaster will automatically be refunded. Tickets purchased at the Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre Box Office must be returned to the box office for full refund.

We extend our deepest sympathies to the members of Soundgarden, their crew, management, and the Cornell family.”

Soundgarden was originally scheduled to headline this year’s Rock on the Range and Rocklahoma festivals as well.  With a big hole where one evening’s headliners would have been, they’re doing what they can to remember Cornell and to fill in a headlining slot time.  Rock on the Range revealed they plan on honoring Cornell throughout the weekend.
