Rockfest Barcelona might be this Summer’s best international metal fest

Posted by on April 2, 2018

In recent years, the American metal festival scene has changed for the  better. While Mayhem Fest is sadly gone and Ozzfest doesn’t exist as a touring fest any more, there are plenty of destination fests. Danny Wimmer Presents has stepped up to fill a hole, with multiple events around the country from April to October. Ozzfest Meets Knotfest is a great one as well, and of course Maryland Deathfest and other regional ones like New England Metal and Hardcore Fest and Clutch’s own festival that’s entering it’s second year. However, if you’re looking for a getaway over the fourth of July holiday, you might want to look into the Rockfest Barcelona.

The headliners alone are impressive enough. KISS, Ozzy Osbourne, the Pumpkins United version of Helloween, Scorpions, Judas Priest, Megadeth and Dimmu Borgir is a diverse and legendary lineup right there. What could be better than seeing Ozzy on his last world tour somewhere else in the world other than North America? Especially in the beautiful Spanish city of Barcelona, for that matter? If you’re looking for a hotel room in Barcelona for the fest, TravelMag has picked the best affordable hotels in the city. For more upscale hotel options, check Luxury-Hotels.com

THe remainder of the lineup is a who’s who of current and classic rock and metal. Dark Funeral, Accept, Dee Snider, Evergrey, Lacuna Coil, Stryper, Phil Campbell and the Bastards Sons, Uriah Heep and Tremonti are among those playing as well. The festival takes place from July 5th – 7th, and seems like the perfect way to extend your July 4th holiday. Head here for more details.
