According to Chicago-area DJ and promoter Nick Fury, who claims to have inside knowledge, Metallica, Slipknot and AC/DC will be headlining all Danny Wimmer Presents festivals in 2020 (aka Sonic Temple Art & Music Festival, Louder Than Life, Aftershock, Epicenter and Welcome to Rockville). The Metallica news should not come as a surprise, as this was speculated yesterday. As for Slipknot, they will be performing two sets; the first being classic Slipknot favorites followed by We Are Not Your Kind in it’s entirety. AC/DC will supposedly see the return of Brian Johnson and embark on a world tour. This is pretty huge if true.

💥🚨MEGA RUMOR/LEAK🚨💥
UPDATE: We have heard nothing about Chicago Open Air which leads us to believe it will not be happening in 2020.

Metallica will be headlining all DWP festivals in 2020 including: Sonic Temple, Louder Than Life, Welcome To Rockville, Epicenter, and Aftershock. This includes a new sponsor for all the festivals, Blackened Whisky.

Slipknot is rumored to be performing at all of these festivals as well but doing a very special double set. One set of fan favorites while the other set will feature the entire new album, We Are Not Your Kind played in full.

The final headliner for 1 or 2 of these festivals will be none other than AC/DC featuring the return of Brian Johnson on vocals as a part of a full 2020 world tour.

We also expect to see Judas Priest on several lineups as they celebrate the bands 50th anniversary and have 2 North American runs set for 2020.

Look for an official announcement via Metallica, DWP, and the festival’s social media channels on Thursday October 10th. #StayTuned

Apparently, an official announcement will be revealed tomorrow (Thursday October 10th) so we will know if these rumors are true soon. It’s safe to say this is in correlation to Metallica’s mysterious countdown.
