Van Halen Apparently Confirmed For Australia’s Soundwave Revolution Festival

Posted by on May 11, 2011

Soundwave Revolution, Australia’s new traveling festival, has announced via Facebook and their website that Van Halen will be the shows’ headliner. Also recently added to the lineup is Alice Cooper, Bad Religion, Hole, Machine Head, Danzig, Alter Bridge, Sisters Of Mercy, Versa Emerge, The Pretty Reckless, and many others.

As cool of a lineup as this appears to be, it’s unsettling to us that Van Halen has been “confirmed” for anything. Since the band’s reunion tour with David Lee Roth in 2007, rumors of a new album and tour keep popping out of no where, only to get shot down again as false. So sorry if we’re a bit skeptical about this announcement. However, so far there’s been no word saying otherwise. So it appears that Van Halen really are headlining the Soundwave Festival, and who knows, maybe this stint will be followed by a full world tour and new album. Despite this optimism, we wouldn’t suggest holding your breath for the later two.

Just in case you so happen to be in Australia this coming Fall, you can check out the dates for the Soundwave Revolution below:

9/24 – Brisbane, Australia
9/25 – Sydney, Australia
9/30 – Melbourne, Australia
10/1 – Adelaide, Australia
10/3 – Perth Revolution, Australia

Other bands previously announced for the traveling festival include Hellyeah, Hatebreed, Gorjira, The Damned Things, Devin Townsend Project, Hollywood Undead, Every Time I Die, Attack Attack, Steel Panther and many others. You can check out the entire rundown of bands at the festival’s website.
