Korn Takes Part In Walmart’s ‘Soundcheck’ Online Series (Not A Commercial)

Posted by on January 20, 2012

Earlier this week, rumors started to spread that Korn were filming something with Walmart. At the time, no one was able to confirm or deny that Korn was doing a commercial for the retail juggernaut. However, it’s now been confirmed that the nu metal pioneers were working with Walmart, just not on a commercial.

Last night, we were informed that Korn had actually filmed a five song set and interview for Walmart Soundcheck, an online performance series done by Walmart. In addition to featuring an interview and photos, Korn’s featured episode includes them performing four songs off of Revolver Magazine’s favorite album of 2011 and their hit “Falling Away From.” Plus, our source tells us that bonus content from the band will be included on Walmart Soundcheck’s Facebook page.

It may still feel weird to hear Korn and Walmart’s names next to each other (even if it isn’t a commercial). However, Korn isn’t the first rock/metal act to take part in the online series, with Avenged Sevenfold, Foo Fighters, and Chris Cornell having been featured in the past. They are, however, the first rock/metal act to take part in the online series that have a song named “Faget.” Oh well, at least Korn’s collaboration didn’t end up to be as awkward as this ad.
