Red Fang release free acoustic EP

refangacousticWhen you think of Red Fang’s fun stoner-rific riff rock, “I bet that’d sound great acoustic” probably isn’t the first thought that comes to mind. Yet the Portland quartet have gone ahead and recorded an acoustic EP regardless in conjunction with Teamrock. When in London in March, the band recorded three songs-acoustically, “Failure,” “Human Herd” and “Malverde.” Now the “Absolute Music Bunker Session” has been released as a free download, with the three original versions of the songs on the EP as well. It’s actually surprising how well the songs sound stripped down, taking on kind of a Tom Waits-y whiskey-soaked vibe. Make no mistake, the three songs sound great in their original versions on Murder the Mountains and Whales and Leeches, but they take on a different dimension acoustically. Listen and/or download now.
