Mastodon playing benefit show in tiny venue

Posted by on March 5, 2015

Mastodon will be playing a “Benefit and Birthday Party” on March 11th at The Earl, a 300 person capacity room in Atlanta, GA.

Tickets for the event are $30 each, and are will-call only. All of the proceeds are going to Steve McPeeks, the bass player in West End Motel, a project that features Mastodon guitarist Brent Hinds. McPeeks was, “badly injured recently,” so this benefit show was put together to raise money to help with his medical bills.

According to this Tweet from Chunklet, Mastodon hasn’t played The Earl in over a decade, which means right around the Leviathan era for the band. The band has since been nominated for two Grammy Awards.
