On Saturday (15), the singer of a Salt Lake City hardcore band was shot and killed outside a venue where he’d just played. Bradley Hancock, 24, was the singer of Close Grip, who was opening for Soul Search at The Core on Saturday. After his younger brother got into an argument with Quincy Earl Lawson, 20, Hancock jumped in and the altercation spilled out into the parking lot. Lawson returned with a gun, firing multiple shots from a jeep before taking off. He was found and arrested the following day.

Hancock, who had a one-year-old son with fiancee Mariah Borg, was going to marry her next Halloween. A GoFundMe campaign has been set up for his fiancee and child. Soul Search sent their condolences via Twitter, and linked to the campaign, which has surpassed it’s $10,000 goal.
