Queens of the Stone Age fans got some good news from Mastodon’s Troy Sanders last month when he said that the band would be releasing a new album this year. And while there hasn’t been any concrete confirmation that they’re doing anything, a large hint might have been dropped yesterday by another musician friend. Eagles of Death metal frontman Jesse Hughes posted a picture on his Instagram page of himself along with Josh Homme and interestingly enough, Dave Grohl. The post was later deleted.

This could mean anything. Perhaps the three just ran into each other at a show. However, Alternative Nation seems to think that the deleted pic was taken at a studio. If so, that could mean a number of things. Grohl played drums on Queens’ most successful album, Songs For the Deaf. Homme and Grohl also played in the supergroup Them Crooked Vultures along with Led Zeppelin’s John Paul Jones. Meanwhile, Homme is in Eagles of Death Metal with Hughes, so maybe Grohl is guesting on a track from them. Of course, Foo Fighters are in the process of recording new music as well. We think the chances that at least one of those projects might feature all three of them is pretty high. But as for now, to steal a phrase from a song that Homme and Grohl play on, no one knows.
