Remember a few years ago when Sleep released “The Clarity,” their first new song in 20 years? That was due to Adult Swim’s singles series, which led everyone to believe that they’d be putting out more music. In fact, we called the follow-up to 2003’s Dopesmoker one of our 20 albums to look forward to in 2017. They’ve been hinting around that they’d be putting something out via Instagram, and they released another hint today via another shot of a mixing board. This one, however, has a gigantic tray full of weed. A sticker on the board says “Distort Everything,” which is a good mantra. There’s no release date or anything like that, but hell, considering the last time they recorded an album was 1996, it’ll be well worth the wait to see what Matt Pikc and friends come up with.
