Cooking Vinyl, a UK-based label, has been making some moves in America. A few months ago, the label welcomed Party Smasher Inc. to their roster, and have The Dillinger Escape Plan and Giraffe Tongue Orchestra releases coming out. It turns out that’s not all they’re doing with American labels, as they’ve just signed a worldwide deal with Outerloop Records. A relatively new label, they had released by the likes of Youth in Revolt and Ice Nine Kills. With the artist development deal they signed with Cooking Vinyl, they’re going to have some new and returning artists. Chasing Safety and Youth In Revolt are on the new version of Outerloop Records, and they’ve signed Lorna Shore and Megosh.

If Outerloop sounds familiar, it’s because the management company, started by Mike Mowery, has worked with artists including Refused, We Came as Romans, Periphery and Darkest Hour. Mowery is psyched to be working with Cooking Vinyl, stating:

When we went looking for a new label home there were many people who expressed interest.  Our track record for both managing and releasing developing artists is unrivaled. As a team, we have always been willing to go the extra mile for our artists to help them grow, and we are elated to have another arm of our company to help artists develop and prosper. Howie Gabriel and Marc Schapiro, of Cooking Vinyl America, have demonstrated equal enthusiasm for what we aim to do and we cannot be more proud to partner with them.

The four aforementioned artists, Youth in Revolt, Chasing Safety, Lorna Shore and Megoth, will be the first four releases coming from the Outerloop/Cooking Vinyl partnership. The label has celebrated the partnership by releasing a cover of Ellie Goulding’s “Something In the Way” by Youth In Revolt. We don’t know what any of that means, so go here to watch that if you’re into that sort of thing.
