Last April, Eric Ellis, guitarist for Bury Your Dead from 2004-2008, was put on trial for gang related crimes (supposedly inspired by the TV show Sons of Anarchy). Now he’s officially been sentenced to 20 years in federal prison.

Ellis originally left Bury Your Dead in ’08 due to “medical reasons and personality differences”, which apparently means, “I want to join a gang.” The gang in question is called the Guardians, who we can only assume look something like this. Ellis was originally charged with violating federal racketeering laws in early 2011 alongside gang leader Maynard Godwin. Now, they’ve been charged with everything from armed robbery, drug trafficking, and home invasion.

So, hopefully Bury Your Dead weren’t missing Ellis, otherwise they’re out of luck for a decade or two. You can check out the official FBI press release on Ellis and the Guardians here.
