Sumerian Records drops Miss Fortune following domestic violence incident

Posted by on October 30, 2014

On October 24th Miss Fortune vocalist Mikey Sawyer Tweeted, “It would be cool if I could meet an intelligent girl w/ a reasonable level of maturity.” A few hours later he was arrested for domestic assault and battery. This led to the band canceling their appearance on the upcoming Get Real Tour with The Word Alive, Color Morale, Our Last Night, and The Dead Rabbitts. Now, yesterday Sumerian Records owner Ash Avildsen made the following statement on Facebook:

“Sumerian Records has dropped Miss Fortune. We do not condone domestic violence, nor would we ever support an artist that does. – Ash”

The 22 year old Sawyer joined the band in 2012, replacing vocalist Eddie Cano. The band has already been removed from the Sumerian Records website, in both the artist and online store sections. Their latest album, A Spark to Believe, came out earlier this year. mikey sawyer tweet (via Lambgoat)
