01) Behemoth, I Loved You at Your Darkest (Metal Blade)

Behemoth is my favorite Polish export, right in front of pierogies.  And I really love pierogies.  The Satanist was not only Behemoth’s greatest record, it has become one of metal’s greatest records.  How could Nergal and company even attempt to follow that up?  Well, the followed it up pretty darn well.  Markedly different from The Satanist, ILYAYD, is a brilliant record from start to finish and one further step in Behemoth’s evolution.  While the Twitter crowd might complain about Behemoth becoming a “brand” with all their merch and such, the reality is many fans buy as much as they can afford because their merch is great.  Personally, I’ll be wearing my Behemoth parka proudly this winter.  By the way, it’s also made in Poland.

Key Track:  “We Are The Next 1000 Years”
