10) Every Time I Die – December Livestream

Metal Insider’s Chris Annunziata watched the Every Time I Die event and thought it was a hysterical and enjoyable experience. The group used cameos from Andrew Dice Clay and improvised having a conversation.

09) Trollfest – spring Livestream

Trollfest were one of the first batches of bands holding Livestream events at an empty venue. The group performed back in April, asking everyone to mosh around in their living space and share a photo or video of their mosh or conga mosh experience. Metal Insider’s Zenae Zukowski personally participated in this as she joined in the conga mosh with her dog, Ghost. It was a fun experience just to let go while still missing live shows, as it wasn’t too long ago when she saw them during 2020’s 70000tons of Metal

07) Suicide Sillence – Virtual World Tour

Suicide Silence stepped out of their comfort zone and did what no other band achieved this year: they embarked on a Virtual World Tour. Throughout July, the group held one and, on some days, two performances as they performed live exclusively to their fans across the globe. Additionally, they gave their fans a backstage pass where they could ask them anything, whether it’s about their favorite song or pizza, the group was there to answer.

06) Enslaved – Verftet Online Music Festival  // Cinematic Summer Tour

Not only did Enslaved release another fantastic record, Utgard, which landed on Jeff’s Top 20 albums of 2020, the group participated in a number of unforgettable Livestream events.

05) Trivium – A Light or A Distant Mirror Livestream

Trivium went above and beyond for their fans during this challenging year. In addition to their A Light or a Distant Mirror Livestream, they also held free Livestream performances. The group has also released one of the best albums of the year with, What the Dead Men Say, which is featured on Chris A’s, Matt Brown’s, and Zach Fehl’s Top albums of 2020 list.

04) Puscifer – Existential Reckoning: Live at Arcosanti Livestream

Puscifer’s Existential Reckoning: Live at Arcosanti Livestream went above and beyond your standard virtual show supporting their latest effort, Existential Reckoning. The experience felt more like an independent film with a fantastic location in the Arizona desert.

03) Mr. Bungle – The Raging Wrath of the Easter Bunny Demo Livestream

Mr.Bungle celebrated their first album in over 20 years, The Raging Wrath of the Easter Bunny Demo, by having a Livestream record release event, and Metal Insider’s Jeff Podohen was there!

He described the event as:

“You should have watched! I mean, it was only fifteen bucks and you didn’t have to worry about anyone blocking your view of the band with their damn cellphones!!”

02) Architects – November Livestream

Architects’ November Livestream from the Royal Albert Hall was, as Chris A says, “overall, everything was great.” With such an epic event, we are excited for their new album, For Those That Wish to Exist, scheduled to arrive on February 26, 2021, via Epitaph Records.
