08) Nergal Fooled us all

Behemoth spent a chunk of the summer supporting Slipknot’s Knotfest Roadshow North American Tour. Back in August, frontman Nergal shared via Instagram how he was kicked out of a YMCA for wearing a Darkthrone shirt and telling someone how he didn’t believe in Jesus. Despite knowing the meaning behind the YMCA, this led to an internet uproar. In November, Nergal revealed how he lied to everyone about the incident and admitted he enjoys “stirring shit up.” This was a wise move on Nergal’s part as people can interpret just about anything on the internet. Fear Factory’s overall status has confused us this year. We’ve also heard rumors about Slipknot and AC/DC to tour next year, and let’s not forget how many times we heard Coal Chamber were “reuniting.” The internet always requires a bit of research before assuming everything you see and read is true. Perhaps that was the ultimate message Nergal was sending to everyone.
