02) 2012: 2012 was supposed to be Lamb Of God’s year

Things were moving up for Lamb of God in 2012 as it began with the celebration of their overall seventh studio album, Resolution. However, the year made an ugly turn for Randy Blythe. By June, the frontman was arrested for manslaughter in Prague as he was accused of allegedly pushing 19-year-old Daniel Nosek offstage at a show that took place two years prior. Blythe remained in a Czech Republic prison for 37 days, after having to post bail twice. At one point, Blythe didn’t know if he was going to remain in jail for 5-10 years. By 2013, the singer was found not guilty. The overall experience led Blythe to write two songs, “Still Echoes” and “512,” which is taken from 2015’s VII: Sturm und Drang. Additionally, the singer wrote a memoir, Dark Days, that circles around this horrific timeframe. Nearly eight years later, Lamb of God are known as one of the more prominent bands in metal, and it’s difficult to imagine that there was a chance Blythe could be in prison today.
