The world can finally rest easy. It’s been almost a year since singer ZP Heart left Dragonforce. But now the band has announced that they have found a new singer in Marc Hudson. Apparently, the band received thousands of applications via video and live auditions, but the 23 year old singer from Oxford, England won them over. Here’s what guitarist Herman Li said about the band’s new singer:

“After almost a year of searching around the globe, it’s great to be able to finally tell our fans the good news. Marc’s expressive and melodic vocals are sounding phenomenal on the new songs, adding another dimension to the Dragonforce sound that I am sure all the fans will love.”

You can check out Hudson’s audition video below. The band is currently recording the follow up to 2008’s Ultra Beatdown. Now the power metal group can say they lasted longer than the video game that helped put them on the map in the U.S.
