When we write our Metal by Numbers column, we always look for trends happening. In this week’s installment, we noticed that the new currency might be Taylor Swift covers of “Blank Space.” We knew there was already a really popular one by I Prevail, a band whose name sounds a hell of a lot like It Prevails. Then we noticed that Our Last Night re-debuted off the strength of a two year-old album. Upon doing a little bit of research, we found out that Our Last Night did a cover of the song too. Is there a need for two “Blank Space” covers by metalcore bands? Hell, there might not even be a need for one of them. So we did the logical thing and mashed up both of them into a mix that might make you question humanity. We’re sincerely sorry about this.
