According to Sick Drummer Magazine, Fear Factory have officially found a new drummer just in time for their upcoming tour. Joining the band behind the kit will be Mike Heller, best known for his work in bands like Malignancy and System Divide.

Heller had the following to say about his new gig in Fear Factory:

“It is an incredible honor to be chosen as the new drummer for Fear Factory! It’s something I never would have dreamt of as a kid listening to Soul of A New Machine and Demanufacture over and over again in middle school. It’s also an incredible honor to be following in the footsteps of two of the most amazing and influential drummers in metal drumming history. I hope to continue their legacy, creating some of the most forward-thinking and innovative music available today.”

The news of Heller joining the group also confirms that drummer Gene Hoglan is officially out of Fear Factory. While he previously revealed that he would not be partaking in Fear Factory’s upcoming tour with Shadows Fall, it wasn’t clear until now whether Hoglan had departed for good.

Heller, along with bassist Matt DeVries (ex-Chimaira/ Six Feet Under), will make his debut with Fear Factory in San Antonio, TX on May 1. Meanwhile, Fear Factory’s new album The Industrialist comes out on June 5.
