My First Metal Shirt is a regularly-occurring feature on Metal Insider where we talk to people involved in metal about the first-ever metal T-shirt they owned, their memories about it,  and hopefully, a picture of them in it. This week’s installment comes from Kissing Candice frontman Joey Simpson, who shows his age by a) mentioning a VHS tape and b) the next few band t-shirts he picked up. Kissing Candice just finished playing the Gathering of the Juggalos.

My first metal shirt was this self-titled Slipknot shirt! I remember my friend John brought over a bootleg VHS tape of slipknot playing live in Detroit.  I watched the video 3 times in a row and knew I was hooked.  The next day I went to Hot Topic, bought this shirt and rocked it every day for months. That shirt opened doors for more apparel like Mudvayne , Limp Bizkit, and Marilyn Manson.
