20 albums to (hopefully) look forward to in 2017

10) Fear Factory

It wasn’t too long ago when we heard rumors of Fear Factory’s tenth studio album to possibly be released by late summer or fall of 2017.

9) Carcass

Carcass’ 2013 comeback of Surgical Steel brought them a handful of tours, including two runs within 3 months of each other over the summer and fall of 2016. Recently they revealed having “an enormous amount of free time,” hoping a new album could be released by the end of 2017.

8) Rammstein

Two years ago Rammstein mentioned “it usually takes two years” to complete an album. Well, that time has come and we have seen and heard the new song  “Ramm4” live. Rammstein booked their only East Coast performance of 2017 at Jones Beach, in Wantagh, NY on June 25, 2017, which makes me believe the new album will hopefully drop before then.

7) Morbid Angel

During the summer of 2016, Morbid Angel announced returning to the studio to record the follow-up from their 2011 release of Illud Divinum Insanus. Seems promising after signing with UDR music and booking quite a few shows. Hopefully, a release date will be announced shortly.

6) Ne Obliviscaris

Australian metallers Ne Obliviscaris are working on their new album, a follow-up from 2014’s Citadel. On New Year’s Eve they wished 2017 would bring “a new Ne Obliviscaris album for your listening pleasure.”
