It’s hard to believe that Enslaved have been around for 13 albums now, but that’s exactly what In Times, released earlier this year, is. And in addition to being well-received by fans and critics, the album also finds the band more popular then ever, with the album having debuted at #105 when it came out in March. And while the band was able to tour behind the album when it was released, they’re excited to return to the states on the Between the Buried and Me tour starting later this month. Said guitarist, songwriter, and founding member Ivar Bjørnson on the new album:

“When we ended our highly successful tour just this March, it was with an outspoken ‘We sure hope there’s another trip across the pond already this year. And wouldn’t you know it; there is going to be just that! The gods heard our call. We will add our extreme flavour to the prog-metal package; to make sure our own faithful American fans (which we will never be able to thank enough for their relentless support), as well as the new listeners we’ll meet on the way gets the full-blown Enslaved-experience!”

Whether you’re a fan of Enslaved’s earlier (and much more brash) style of blackened-Viking metal or prefer the clean vocal styling added on newer albums, odds are you’ll hear a little bit of both during their coveted support slot.
