Robert Trujillo recording with a band that’s not Metallica

Photos first surfaced on Instagram a few weeks ago, but now the Magic Bullet Records website has made it official; a new supergroup has formed!

That’s Metallica bassist Robert Trujillo, Torche drummer Rick Smith, and Magic Bullet Records founder Brent Eyestone and Graham Scala (they played together in Highness and Bleach Everything) on guitar.  The photo is from Wishbone Studios in Los Angeles, CA, where the as-of-yet unnamed band recorded an upcoming release.

From the Magic Bullet Records website:

“Our friend Chris Owens was behind the boards and snapped the accompanying pic. The tracks have been passed along to two other conspirators (that will be named later) and the material will be mixed and mastered in May. Plans for the release of this music will be announced shorty thereafter. Needless to say, the music is on the heavier side of the spectrum.”

Chris Owens has worked on albums by Pelican, Helms Alee, These Arms are Snakes and quite a few others, so it seems pretty certain that this release will amazing.
