Calgary riff rockers Woodhawk’s new album Violent Nature is scheduled to arrive this Friday (1st). The band teamed up with Jesse Gander (Anciients, Bison, etc.) back in February at Rain Recorders in Vancouver, BC, to work on their overall sophomore effort. The follow-up to 2017’s Beyond the Sun is promised to be the group’s most vigorous effort yet. The band’s style stems from their influences of Black Sabbath and Thin Lizzy. In addition to their catchy riffs, the group’s music circles around science fiction themes. However, on this particular record, it more of an exploration of the struggles of mental health and self-discovery. Today (30th), Woodhawk has teamed up with Metal Insider for the exclusive album stream of Violent Nature.

Vocalist/guitarist Turner Midzain commented:

“We’re happy for everyone to finally hear this album. We worked hard on it to really express the struggles we went through over the last few years. It was a therapeutic process for us, and I hope that translates to the listener. Jesse Gander absolutely nailed the production and keyboards on this album, and Alan Douches tied it all together with his amazing mastering. We couldn’t be happier with how it all turned out.”
