The teaming of former Nevermore guitarist Jeff Loomis and musician Keith Merrow was inevitable, but an album wasn’t a definite until the duo raised more than $15,000 via Indiegogo. Loomis and Merrow, who have also recruited Alex Webster of Cannibal Corpse and Alex Rudinger of The Faceless for their newly named band Conquering Dystopia, will now be able to produce an album.
The project raised in its $15,00 goal in less than 24 hours via the crowdfunding site (and as of now has raised $25,300). The Conquering Dystopia album can be pre-ordered via Indiegogo for consumption upon completion, with numerous exclusive bundle packages still available. As you may recall, Loomis was also forced to set up a PayPal account back in April to accept donations to keep touring after he and his band were robbed of all their gear in St. Louis. The band’s personal items including laptops, money and passports were also reportedly stolen.
