One of the biggest comeback albums of 2017 just got a release date. Life of Agony’s A Place Where There’s No More Pain will be released on April 28th. The band’s fifth album will be their first one in 12 years and only their second in 20 after reuniting back in 2014. Here’s what Alan Robert says about the album,

“We’re in the final stages of mixing the album with our producer and then we head into mastering sessions with Ted Jensen (Alice in Chains, Machine Head, Deftones) at Sterling Sound, NYC. This record is a monster and we’re so psyched to finally share it come April. It’s got such an energy to it. Raging guitar riffs, heartfelt lyrics and killer grooves. We definitely turned things up a few notches in 2017 and it feels great. And I gotta say, we’ve never been so focused as a band. Before we even wrote the first note, we all knew what kind of record we wanted to make. You can hear that drive and intensity in the tracks and you can feel the momentum building.”

Judging from the three song snippets in the video that they released last year (and that you can see below), it’s a pretty intense and heavy album, which is a sound they’d drifted from  with their last few albums. We’ll find out for sure in April. In other news, the band have announced a “Calling From the Underground” contest in which an unsigned band in the tri-state area will get to open for the band at their April 28th NYC show at Irving Plaza. Here’s where you’ll be able to catch the band:
