15) Every Time I Die

During the Holiday break, Every Time I Die announced via Social Media that they are heading into the studio once their European tour with While She Sleeps wraps up. The group will team up with Will Putney to work on album #9.

14) Carcass

When Carcass released their first song in six years with “Under the Scalpel Blade,” these death/grind English masters also revealed their new album would be released at some point this year. The group’s upcoming record has a lot to live up to as 2013’s Surgical Steel landed on #3 of our top 225 metal albums of the decade

13) Omnium Gatherum

We could be stretching it as this one could potentially go into 2021. However, sometime between touring, Omnium Gatherum will work on a follow-up to 2018’s The Burning Cold. We spoke to guitarist Markus Vanhala who is also in Insomnium, and he had the following to say:

“We already have some plans to start writing a new OG album and it’s coming. We were just asked by the label that they want to release the next OG album so we have to start planning. Never stop the madness. No rest for the wicked.”

12) Witherfall

Witherfall are relatively active on social media, and if you follow the clues, you will see there will most likely be a new album released at some point this year.

11) Enslaved

Enslaved said it themselves in December. They’ve re-signed to Nuclear Blast, entered the studio, and aiming for a May 2020 release for their new album.
