When German progressive death metal band Obscure release their fourth album, Akroasis, on February 6th, it will have been five years since their last one. In between 2011 and now, the band have gotten a new guitarist and drummer, and according to frontman and sole original member Steffen Kummerer, have written what’s going to be their most complex and heavy album they’ve released:

With Akróasis, we produced our grand opus featuring eight songs of fluent arrangements, odd time signatures never heard before in metal, and the most high end production in the history of the band. Without question Akróasis is the heaviest, most complex record we have made to date. We cannot wait to perform live again and bring this excellent music to stages around the globe.

The track listing for the album, which will be out on February 6th on Relapse Records, can be seen below. The album can be preordered here and digitally pre-ordered here. You can get a glimpse of what the album’s like in the video teaser above.
