Everything we’ve heard from the new Pelican album, Forever Becoming, has been pretty great. The band have already let two songs, “Deny the Absolute” and “Immutable Dusk”, out there in advance of the October 15th release of the album, their second full length for Southern Lord and first without founding guitarist Laurent Schroeder-Lebec. Now there’s another track for you to listen to. “The Cliff” is a more subdued track than the first two, neither as lengthy or heavy but definitely moving. It’s a nice complement to the first two tracks. Check it out, and then pick up the album next month. If getting to hear almost half the album a month in advance doesn’t convince you, you’re probably still waiting for the vocals to come in.
