Yesterday wasn’t just the last day of July, reminding you that Summer is fleeting. It’s also the day that listeners in the UK and United States were able to hear a brand new song from The Dillinger Escape Plan via BBC Radio 1 and SiriusXM, respectively. “Limerent Death” is the first taste of music we’re getting from Dissociation, the band’s forthcoming sixth studio album.

Some bands mellow with age, and the older they get, the more sedate or commercial their music gets. DEP are definitely not one of those bands. This is as spazzy and heavy as the band’s ever been. While singer Greg Puciato might be busy indulging his ’80s influences with The Black Queen, and guitarist Ben Weinman his more accessible side with Giraffe Tongue Orchestra, it seems they have no interest in making their main band any more accessible. Check it out below (at around the 2:00:30 mark), and bookmark October 14th, which is when Dissociation is released on Party Smasher via Cooking Vinyl.
