Mike McKenzie of The Red Chord has no plans of releasing new material with his band in the near future, but instead is working on a side project called Nightkin, according to Metal Injection. Mixing tracks alongside former Black Dahlia Murder bassist Dave Lock and ex-drummer Zach Gibson, Mr. “Gunface” himself confirmed the workings of the new material in a Facebook post on his own page.

“Nightkin is being mixed this week. Finishing up the last bit of vocal edits and sending it off. I’m pretty stoked on it. Lots of killer riffs, solos and blastbeats and I got to vomit death growls all over it.”

Yes, this project could actually be legit and if the pace on progress is maintained, we may see new music sooner than anticipated.
