Vocalist Anneke van Giersbergen unveils first song, “Days Go By – London” from new Vuur project

Posted by on June 2, 2017

The illustrious Dutch vocalist Anneke van Giersbergen (ex-The Gathering) revealed to us late last year the formation of her new project Vuur. Her voice is no stranger to the metal community, she collaborated with acclaimed artists including Devin Townsend and the visionary Arjen Lucassen. Today (2), the vocalist shared the new song “Days Go By – London” and it surpasses all expectations. This could lead towards one of the best albums we will see in 2017.

Giersbergen commented on the track:

“The lyrical content of the album is inspired by the many cities I have visited while being on the road. The song ‘Days Go By – London’ is about The Great Fire in 1666. The lyrics are written from the perspective of the element of Fire, threatening Londoners to wipe them out, but the song is also about hope. Even in the darkest of times, the sun will rise.”

The not-yet-titled debut album is expected to have a fall release via InsideOut Music
