At The Gates have released the cover art for At War With Reality, their latest album due out October 28th in the US. This is the bands first full length studio album since the 1995 release of Slaughter of the Soul.

At The Gates frontman Tomas Lindberg explained the artwork in a statement:

“The concept of ‘At War with Reality’ is based on the literary genre called ‘Magic Realism’. The main style within this genre is the notion that ‘reality’ is ever-changing, and needs to be constantly re-discovered and re-conquered. We felt that Costin’s artwork style would be the perfect visual contribution to this album, so he became the natural choice…”

Artist Costin Chioreanu has done T-shirt designs for the band before, and did the artwork and design for At The Gates guitarist Anders Björler’s debut solo album, Antikythera. For At War With Reality, Björler said, “we realized pretty early on that his style would accompany the music and the concept perfectly.”

This new album will feature the same line-up as the 1995 release of Slaughter of the Soul; Tomas Lindberg, Anders Björler, Martin Larsson, Jonas Björler, and Adrian Erlandsson.
