Enfold Darkness bassist Todd Honeycutt commits suicide

Posted by on September 5, 2017

During this past weekend, Enfold Darkness bassist Todd Honeycutt tragically committed suicide. The thirty-year-old hung himself and was found in guitarist Elijah Whitehead’s garage. He was part of the group’s latest effort, Adversary Omnipotent, which was released this past July.  The news circulated on Whitehead’s personal Facebook account stating:

“I came home from work last night to find that Todd had hung himself in my garage. I am shaken and disturbed, but in good hands. I am having a gathering at my place this evening to remember him if anyone wants to stop by for a bit. Bring lots of hugs. I need them. Hold your Boiz close.”

The technical black metal act launched a GoFundMe account to help cover funeral expenses along with transporting his body back to his family in South Carolina. At around $4,600 as of press time, it’s about halfway to it’s goal of $10,000.

“Our brother Todd, who performed on our latest album, has taken his own life. I wish that we could give you a better sounding statement – we are all still in disbelief. If you are able to chip in, let’s get him back to his family in South Carolina.”

Mental illness and depression is a serious battle many suffer from. For those who have or know anyone experiencing suicidal thoughts, do not be afraid to reach out to a friend, family member or call the National Suicide Prevention Hotline (1-800-273-8255).

Our thoughts and condolences go to Honeycutt’s family and friends during this difficult time.
