Jon Schaffer is still being held at Marion County Jail

Iced Earth’s Jon Schaffer is still being held at Marion County Jail in Indiana. According to The Republic reporter Jordan Morey, who shared the following update via Twitter:

 

“I’m told that Jon Schaffer is still being held at Marion County Jail. He has been there since Jan. 17.”

 

Schaffer has been in custody since turning himself in on January 17th for his involvement in the Capitol riots that took place on January 6th. The report of the guitarist still being held in Indiana, comes just a few weeks after both the U.S. Attorney and Schaffer’s legal team agreeing to move the proceedings to Washington D.C. Schaffer was recently transferred into the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service. He is facing six federal charges:

“1) Knowingly Entering or Remaining in any Restricted Building or Grounds Without Lawful Authority

2) Disrupting the Orderly Conduct of Government Business

3) Knowingly Engages in an Act of Physical Violence Against any Person or Property in any Restricted Building or Grounds

4) Violent Entry and Disorderly Conduct in a Capitol Building

5) Engage in an Act of Physical Violence in a Capitol Building

6) Parade, Demonstrate, or Picket in a Capitol Building”
