Light The Torch’s Howard Jones talks upcoming projects on ‘Jasta Show’ Podcast

Posted by on April 17, 2019

Howard Jones, former frontman for Killswitch Engage & current frontman for Light The Torch, appeared on the Jasta Show podcast last week to talk about some of his upcoming projects.

The first he mentioned was a two-song guest spot on former Soilwork guitarist Peter Wichers’ movie music project, Tone Assassins’ upcoming five-song EP. Jones took care to mention that the songs on the album will “be very different” from what fans might expect, saying:

“this is stuff for movies, commercials, stuff like that… Those two songs you heard are very different, they are not metal.”

That EP is slated for release on May 1.

Jones also mentioned he and Wichers’ project King Fighter, saying that music from the project is right around the corner:

“I’m hoping that’ll be seeing the light of day soon and I’d say…right around the same time. Let’s hope for that in the May-June area.”

He said that the project’s first single its lyric video are already ready, so it seems like just a matter of time before it sees some sort of release.

Finally, Jones revealed that he had recorded a guest appearance and shot a video with former Escape The Fate bassist Max Green’s new band Violent New Breed. He did not mention a title, though he says that single will be out around May 24.

In addition to these one-off projects, Jones has been very busy over the last couple of years with his main band Light The Torch. The band, formerly known as Devil You Know, released their third studio album, Revival, on March 30, 2018. They’re currently on tour in Europe and will be hitting the road in the United States in May with In This Moment and Sevendust.
