There’s nothing better than an inside joke between friends. And if that joke happens to be funny enough for other people to laugh at, then all the better. And if those friends happen to be famous, then you’ve got yourself some radio gold. Yesterday, Queensryche drummer Scott Rockenfield called into Los Angeles station KROQ’s Kevin and Bean’s morning show to talk to Survivor host Jeff Probst. Only it wasn’t Scott Rockenfield – it was Dave Grohl.
Granted, the Foo Fighters frontman has some time to kill, with the band on a semi-hiatus and all, but there is a back story as to why Grohl claimed to be Rockenfield. Prosbt explains that when he first met Grohl, he was trying to show off and mentioned that he used to be in a pre-Queensryche band with the drummer. Grohl, of course was also in another band before the Foo Fighters, so it basically became something that he hasn’t let Probst forget about, to the point of calling him on KROQ as Rockenfield. Listen to the call below.
