Berklee College of Music’s Berklee Bass program and The Bass Vault will be hosting an interactive webinar today (16th). The event will be streamed live on Zoom starting at 10am PDT/1pm EDT.

Moderated by Berklee professor Steve Bailey and Scholar-in-Residence Victor Wooten, the event features some of rock’s greatest bassists discussing what “defines modern rock bass.” Artists involved include Tool’s Justin Chancellor, Megadeth‘s David Ellefson and The Winery Dogs’ Billy Sheehan.

Also featured will be drummers Danny Carey (Tool), Dirk Verbeuren (Megadeth) and Ray Luzier (KoRn). They will join the second half of the discussion to “better understand this “Heavy” drum/bass relationship where groove, precision, and intensity are key.”

Tool shared the flyer for the event to their social media on Tuesday, asking fans to join Chancellor and Carey for the discussion.

The event is open to the public with registration, which you can do here.
