Mail just got a lot more metal in Finland. Reaffirming that this country is beyond awesome in its assimilation of metal culture into everyday life, there will soon be postal stamps bearing the images of a few Finnish bands. Among those honored are Children of Bodom, Nightwish, HIM, Apocalyptica, The Rasmus and Hanoi Rocks.

Graphic designer Klaus Welp brought this idea to fruition, with the intention of commending six bands who originated in Finland and succeeded internationally. Welp designed each stamp to resemble a gig poster – using each group’s unique logos and promo photographs to create an authentic band flyer feel. The sheet of stamps features two of each band and as a whole is designed to look like the infamous backstage green room at the Tavastia Club in Helsinki, Finland.

Here’s a glimpse at what the postage stickers look like:

This is an undeniably cool idea, whether you’re an avid snail-mail user or just love the bands featured. The Finnish Post are set to release sheets of these stamps on September 2, 2015.
